A vacuum cleaner is a cleaning device used to absorb dust. Vacuum cleaners can be divided into vertical, horizontal and portable types according to their structure. Working principle of a vacuum cleaner is: using an electric motor to drive blades to rotate at high speed, generating negative air pressure in a sealed shell to absorb dust. Vacuum cleaners are household appliances, and vacuum cleaner molds are generally more complex. Among injection molds, vacuum cleaner molds are second only to molds for OA office supplies such as automobiles, printers, and copiers. This article takes dust bucket of a vacuum cleaner product as an example to introduce in detail design points and experience of a vacuum cleaner dust pipe part mold.

Part shown in figure below is a vacuum cleaner dust pipe part diagram. Vacuum cleaners can be divided into vertical, horizontal and portable types according to their structure. There are household vacuum cleaners and car vacuum cleaners. Size and specifications are not consistent, specific specifications should be determined according to different styles and uses. This article takes vacuum cleaner dust pipe part as an example to introduce in detail design points and technical summary of vacuum cleaner injection molds.

1 Appearance requirements and structural analysis of plastic parts

Figure 2 shows a part drawing of a vacuum cleaner dust pipe of a certain brand. Material is PP and it belongs to appearance part. Size of plastic part is: D50.2x330mm. Characteristics of plastic part are as follows: (1) Appearance parts. Appearance surface of plastic part is not allowed to have spots, shrinkage depressions, weld marks, flash and other defects. (2) Plastic part is a round long cylindrical part, and glue injection needs to be evenly filled. (3) There is no undercut on the outer side of plastic part. Inner side of plastic part is a pipe. Depth of pipe is very long, reaching 330mm, as shown in Figure 2-3. A cylinder core pulling structure is required. (4) There is no ejection mark on appearance surface of plastic part, and ejector pin cannot be designed. How to design ejection of mold is focus and difficulty of this mold.

2 Mold structure analysis

According to structural characteristics and appearance requirements of vacuum cleaner dust pipe plastic part, in order to ensure uniform injection filling of long cylindrical product, mold preferably adopts a two-plate mold structure. Mold cavity arrangement is: 1X2, and each cavity product adopts 2 point side injection. Plastic part uses a large cold nozzle and glue is fed from one end. Since long cylinder is used as a slider, glue is fed from two points at the bottom of slider. Plastic part is a long cylinder. According to characteristics of plastic part, a slider structure is used. Since core pulling stroke is large, a cylinder core pulling is used. For such plastic parts, if core pulling stroke of product is designed like a conventional slider, slider core pulling stroke will be very long. To completely detach from plastic part, stroke needs to reach 350mm. How to solve this problem of plastic parts? Maximum outer dimensions of this mold are: 550*350*361 (mm).

3 Design of lateral core pulling mechanism

According to characteristics of plastic part, if core pulling stroke of plastic part is designed like a conventional slider, core pulling stroke will be very long. To completely detach from plastic part, stroke needs to reach 350mm, which will cause core pulling stroke of slider cylinder on sky side to be very long. Since plastic part is long and cylindrical, there is a demoulding slope on inner side of plastic part in direction of slider, when slider is pulled out, it only needs to be pulled out a certain distance, and slider can be pulled out, so core pulling stroke does not need to reach 350mm.

For this plastic part, slider core pulling stroke is 130mm, and it is only pulled out a certain distance. Inner side of long cylinder of plastic part has been pulled out, but it has not been completely separated. How should plastic part be ejected?

For this type of long cylindrical plastic part, slider core pulling stroke is 130mm, and it is only pulled out a certain distance. Since there is a demoulding slope on inner side of plastic part, when slider is pulled out 130mm, inner side of long cylinder has been pulled out, but it has not been completely separated. Therefore, ejection of this plastic part adopts a slider ejection structure. That is, when ejecting, plastic part is ejected together with slider, and a piece of B plate needs to be inlaid. Slider and reset rod are locked together for ejection. Mold structure is shown in figure below.

4 Design of demoulding system

This mold adopts "slider ejection" structure. When ejecting, slider needs to be ejected together with plastic part, then part is taken out. This structure is a bit special. After fixed and movable molds are opened, mold relies on push ring to push out plastic part. Pusher fixed plate is pushed by injection molding machine through cylinder and reset under action of 4 reset rods. Demoulding mechanism of this mold adopts ejector structure. After fixed and movable molds are opened and lateral mechanism is pulled out, mold relies on mold ejection system to push out plastic part. Pusher fixed plate is pushed by injection molding machine through KO hole mechanically and reset under action of 4 reset rods.

5 Results and discussion

This mold adopts "slider ejection" structure. Mold structure is very distinctive and is a special ejection mechanism. For this type of long cylindrical products, it is a typical structure of vacuum cleaner molds and is of great reference value for this type of mold. Demoulding of this mold is smooth, movement of each mechanism is smooth, mold is safe, stable and reliable. After trial production of mold, assembly effect is good and size is stable. It has been recognized and praised by customers and created certain economic benefits for customers.
