1. In-Mold Decoration-IMD

In-Mold Decoration-IMD (In-Mold Decoration-IMD): It is a molding method in which film with printed pattern is put into metal mold, resin for forming is injected into metal mold to join film, film with printed pattern and resin are integrated and cured into a finished product.
surface treatment
At present, IML-2D and IMR-3D are collectively referred to as IMD in industry, that is, film that remains on product is IML, and film that is removed is IMR.

IMR process flow:

Technical features:
1. Exquisite decorative graphics and logos are hidden, will not disappear due to friction or chemical corrosion;
2. Graphic, logo and color design can be changed at any time without changing mold;
3. For products with three-dimensional shapes, printing accuracy is accurate, with an error of ±0.05mm;
4. It can provide graphics and text, logo back light transmittance and high light transmittance window effect;
5. Function buttons have uniform convex bubbles, good hand feeling, and service life can reach more than 1 million times;
6. Three-dimensional changes can increase designer's degree of freedom in product design;
7. Composite molding process achieves a seamless effect.

2. Out Mold Decoration

Out Mold Decoration is abbreviated as OMD, which is integrated display of vision, touch and function. IMD extends decoration technology, which is a 3D surface decoration technology that combines characteristics of printing, texture structure and metallization.
surface treatment
OMD is divided into OMF and OMR.
OMF (Forming Film): In OMD, there is a coating film, and a back-end punching process is required.
OMR (Release Film): In OMD,film can be torn to avoid punching process.

3. Spraying (Painting)

Spraying: A spraying method in which paint is atomized by spraying tools such as a spray gun and sprayed on workpiece to be coated.
surface treatment
Process flow: injection molding → primer → drying → top coat → drying
Technical features:
Advantage:
1. Rich colors;
2. Processing in a liquid environment can achieve surface treatment of complex structures;
3. Mature technology and mass production;
4. It has unique transparency and high gloss.
Disadvantages:
1. Cost is too high, and low-cost positioning products are not suitable for this process;
2. Process is relatively complicated and yield rate is low.
3. Products are difficult to recycle.

4. Non-Conductive vacuum Metalize

NCVM: Also known as discontinuous coating technology or non-conductive electroplating technology, it uses metal and insulating compounds to coat thin films, using characteristics of each discontinuity, to obtain final appearance with a metallic texture and does not affect effect of wireless communication transmission.
surface treatment
Process flow:

Technical features:
1. Manufactured product is non-conductive, can pass high-voltage test of tens of thousands of volts with a high-voltage meter, and it will not conduct or be broken down.
2. While surface of product has a metallic texture, it can achieve translucency control.

5. Plastic plating

Electroplating: make plastic get a metal effect surface with higher yield and lower cost. Similar to PVD, PVD is a physical principle, and electroplating is electroless plating, which is mainly divided into vacuum electroplating and water electroplating.

Technical features:
Advantage:
1. Weight reduction;
2. Overall cost saving;
3. Fewer processing procedures;
4. Simulate metal parts.
Disadvantages:
1. Metal plug-in cannot be changed during molding process;
2. It is much more difficult to manufacture parts larger than 200 square inches by plastic mold than die casting;
3. There is a fire hazard when electroplated plastics are used in certain types of household appliances.

6. Silk screen

Plastic parts printing: It is a process of printing required patterns on the surface of plastic parts by means of pad printing, screen printing, transfer printing and other methods.
surface treatment
Pad printing: It is an indirect gravure head printing technology. Designed pattern is first etched on printing plate, etching plate is coated with ink, then most of ink is transferred to printed object through silicone head on.
Screen printing: It is a main printing method in stencil printing: printing plate is in the form of a mesh, ink on printing plate is leaked from through hole part of plate to substrate under squeeze of squeegee during printing. Usually wire mesh is made of nylon, polyester, silk or metal mesh.
Transfer: water transfer, thermal transfer
Water transfer: It is a kind of printing that uses water pressure to hydrolyze transfer paper/plastic film with color patterns.
Thermal transfer: It is a technique in which patterns or patterns are printed on heat-resistant adhesive paper, patterns of ink layer are printed on finished material by heating and pressing.

7. Laser

Laser engraving: also called laser engraving or laser marking, it refers to a marking method that uses high-energy density laser to locally irradiate workpiece to vaporize surface material or cause a chemical reaction to change color, thereby leaving a permanent mark. .
surface treatment
Technical features:
1. Wide range, safe and reliable
2. Precise, meticulous, safe and fast
3. Low cost, saving and environmental protection

8. Biting

Biting: It is a process in which chemicals such as concentrated sulfuric acid are used to corrode inside of plastic molding mold to form lines in the form of snakes, etched, and plowed fields. After plastic is molded through mold, surface has corresponding lines.
surface treatment
Process flow:
Mold receiving→sandblasting→chemical cleaning (pickling)→appliques→upper bitumen powder→heating→shangyang→dry paint→chemical corrosion→chemical cleaning → sandblasting → quality inspection
Technical features:
1. Improve visual effect and feel of product
2. Anti-slip
3. Increase surface area to facilitate heat dissipation
4. Facilitate demoulding and easy forming
